Straight seam steel pipes are categorized based on their production processes into high-frequency straight seam resistance welded pipes (ERW) and submerged arc welded straight seam steel pipes (LSAW). Among LSAW pipes, methods such as UOE, RBE, and JCOE are used, with JCOE noted for its simple production process, high efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
The JCOE method involves a series of steps including bending, jointing, internal welding, external welding, straightening, and flattening, ensuring that the final product adheres to stringent standards. Both the inner and outer surfaces of the steel pipe must be smooth and free from significant defects like folds, cracks, delamination, lap welding, arc breakage, or burn-through, with permissible local defects only if they do not exceed the minimum wall thickness deviation.
Key Advantages of JCOE Forming for LSAW Pipes:
- Full Automation:
The JCOE process is completely automated, enhancing consistency and reducing labor costs.
- Enhanced Weld Quality:
The submerged arc welding process provides excellent heat exchange and protection, resulting in high-quality welds.
- High Efficiency:
With the arc buried beneath the welding flux, the JCOE method allows for the use of larger currents, significantly boosting welding efficiency.
JCOE steel pipes are crucial in various applications, including large-scale pipeline projects, water and gas transmission, urban pipeline networks, steel structure buildings, bridge foundations, municipal construction, and overall urban development.
