Copper tubes play a vital role in the construction of heat exchangers and locomotive systems. Known for their superior performance at elevated temperatures, copper outperforms most other metals in thermal applications. Its key advantages—exceptional resistance to corrosion, erosion, and oxidation—make it an ideal material for high-efficiency and long-lasting tube systems.
Thanks to its durability, thermal conductivity, and cost-effectiveness, copper has become a preferred choice in these industries. With advancements in manufacturing technology, modern copper tubes can now be used to create smaller, lighter, and stronger copper radiators. These new-generation radiators are environmentally friendly, as they are lead-free and manufactured through cleaner, more efficient processes.
Made using a non-toxic, low-temperature alloy based on the CuNiSnP system, these copper tubes can be brazed in the same vacuum or controlled-atmosphere furnaces used for aluminum radiators—at around 600°C. Since no flux is needed in the brazing process, there’s no requirement for post-braze cleaning, and the final product is free from hazardous residues.
Below are the technical specifications and dimensional details of copper tubes used in heat exchangerand locomotives applications.
