SSAW steel pipe is a type of welded steel pipe made from strip steel coils, which are extruded at normal temperatures and welded using an automatic double-wire double-sided submerged arc welding process. Appearance inspection is a simple and widely used method for assessing the quality of SSAW pipe products, focusing on identifying defects on the weld surface and measuring dimensional deviations.

Surface Evaluation:
Inspecting the surface of the spiral steel pipe reveals the quality of its production. A reputable manufacturer will produce pipes with minimal friction defects, whereas substandard products may show oval cross-sections due to cost-cutting measures in raw material usage. Such defects result in reduced tensile strength that does not meet rebar specifications. High-quality spiral steel pipes exhibit uniform composition, a high tonnage from cold shearing machines, and clean, tidy internal threads.
