Introduction to ASTM A335 P91 pipe

Date:2025-04-29

The ASTM A335 P91 pipe is a seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe designed specifically for high-temperature applications.

Its chemical composition includes key elements such as molybdenum (Mo) and chromium (Cr), which significantly enhance the pipe’s mechanical properties. The addition of these elements improves the tensile strength and overall durability of the SA335 Grade P91 pipe.

The mechanical properties are as follows:

Tensile strength: approximately 415 MPa

Yield strength: around 205 MPa

Elongation: typically ranges between 20% and 30%

Known for its outstanding performance, the Alloy Steel P91 seamless pipe is often praised for its excellent resistance to chloride-induced corrosion, making it an ideal choice for use in saltwater environments and other corrosive conditions.
