High Strength
Titanium pipes exhibit remarkable strength. Titanium alloys have a tensile strength ranging from 686 to 1176 MPa while maintaining a density that is only about 60% of steel, resulting in an exceptionally high specific strength.
High Hardness
Seamless titanium pipes possess significant hardness. The hardness (HRC) of annealed titanium alloys typically falls within the range of 32-38, making them highly durable.
Low Elastic Modulus
Titanium alloys have a lower elastic modulus compared to steel and stainless steel. The elastic modulus of annealed titanium alloys is approximately 1.078 × 10¹ - 1.176 × 10² MPa, roughly half that of traditional steel materials. Applicable Standards: ASTM B337, ASTM B338, ASTM B861.
Excellent High and Low Temperature Performance
Titanium alloys maintain outstanding mechanical properties even at extreme temperatures. Their heat resistance surpasses that of aluminum alloys, with modern heat-resistant titanium alloys capable of operating at temperatures between 550-600°C. At low temperatures, titanium alloys exhibit even greater strength and retain good toughness, maintaining structural integrity even at -253°C.
Superior Corrosion Resistance
When exposed to air below 550°C, titanium naturally forms a dense and stable oxide film, granting it exceptional resistance to oxidation and corrosion. It outperforms most stainless steels in harsh environments, including exposure to seawater, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and strong alkalis.
Seamless titanium pipes are manufactured using extrusion processes, whereas welded titanium pipes are produced by rolling titanium sheets and welding them. Typically, seamless titanium pipes have thinner walls and smaller diameters, making them suitable for high-precision applications.
